It's been almost 21 years to the day that Autoweek printed Matt DeLorenzo's column “Off the Line: There's room for fast, fun cars in diet of social responsibility.” And in those two decades plus, not much has changed except the vehicles themselves. For example, sports cars like the Bugatti Veyron and Pagani Huayra have astronomically high performance and safety levels; similarly, sport-utility vehicles that haul entire families (and most of their earthly possessions) achieve fuel economy similar to that of 1970s midsize sedans. What the 2015 Corvette ZR1 could look like

Buyers are lining up to put the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette in their garages, but we're already looking ahead to the hopped-up versions Chevrolet is likely to unveil down the road. There will be a new Z06, of course, but we're talking about the Stingray version of the beastly, supercharged Corvette ZR1. Thanks to a pair of renderings, we can imagine what the new ZR1, which will likely be a 2015 or 2016 model year vehicle, might look like.

Hyundai iX35 (2010) and Santa Fe (2010) 4x4s scooped

By Richard Webber First Official Pictures 16 July 2009 15:50 We’ve scooped a brace of spy shots showing the next generation of Hyundai 4x4s – a facelifted Santa Fe and the iX35, the all-new successor to the Tucson. Both will use Hyundai’s high performance ‘R’ turbodiesel engines and the choice of a manual or new automatic six-speed ‘box. It’s largely derived from the iX-onic concept shown at Geneva in March 2009, including the snake-eye side glass profile (which has been obscured at the rear on this mule) and at least some of the muscle on the wings.
